Australian Capital Territory
The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) is a small territory (88km long and 30 km wide) located 307km north-east of Sydney and is home to Australia's capital city Canberra. Canberra is a modern town, established in 1911, and is the political hub of the nation. It is also home to many cultural delights, including Parliament House, the High Court, the National Library, Australian War Memorial and the National Art Gallery. So, if you are tired of the backpacking party scene - head to the ACT for some cultural and political enlightenment!
